Sports Day.
We cannot begin to tell you how extremely proud we are of all the Year 6 children during our Sports days this week. Their organisation and efficiency was incredible, but more than that, their caring manner was evident on every single day. They supported, encouraged and guided each group of children from all year groups through their sports day experience. They truly embodied our EJ Way.
We have had lots of positive praise received from both parents and staff to say what a great job they did. Well done Year 6!
English - The Fox and the Star.
This term, we have been reading The Fox and the Star, by Coralie Bickford Smith. It is a heartwarming tale of friendship and bravery. From EYFS to Year 6, we have all been studying the same book, and producing writing based on the story.
Today, we were very lucky to be able to go to Foundation Stage, and share our stories with the children. First, Foundation children put on a marvellous show, re-telling the story of The Fox and the Star, with incredible actions, to our Year 6's. Then, our Year 6's read stories to the foundation children that they had written themselves. Based on our whole school writing unit, our Year 6 children wrote stories called 'The Owl and the Moon.'
Viva Workshop - The Scottish Play.
'Out damned spot! Out I say!'
We were very lucky to have a visit today from Michael from the Viva Arts and Community Group in Soham. Michael brought a drama workshop to us, and taught us a play in a day.
The workshop gave the children the opportunity to learn all the skills they need to be fantastic performers, but also taught them invaluable life skills in a safe and supporting environment. This was a wonderful opportunity for them to hone their acting skills, ahead of our Year 6 end of year production.
Children were introduced to Macbeth. This included a lot of complicated language, but the children as always rose to the occasion, and performed brilliantly...even when we had a wobbly crown moment at the end!
Caythorpe Court.

Monday.
What fun we had today! The children have experienced problem solving, and the giant swing. The children have worked remarkably well in their groups. Their communication skills, and their respect and support for each other really shone through. Many overcame their initial fears at the sight of the giant swing, and again, teamwork was evident from the start as they all pitched in to help set up each person's turn.
Tuesday
After a good night's sleep, we have had another fun filled day at Caythorpe Court. Today, we have climbed Jacob's ladder, built rafts and swam in the lake, had a round of disc golf, and used our orienteering skills to navigate our way around the site. We have been well fed, and this evening we have been entertained with a quiz.
Wednesday
Our final day at Caythorpe and the action did not stop. We experienced laser tag, where the children quite frankly annihilated their teachers! And the children tackled the enormous climbing wall. Fears were faced head on, and we really hope the children are heading home with a sense of pride in their achievements.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our time spent with your children this week. Polite, organised and thoroughly supportive of each other when facing challenge. We couldn't have asked for a better group to take on a residential. Well done team!
The Pirates of the Curry Bean.
Well, we have finally got to the end of our performances, and we are quite sad about that! Hours and hours of learning lines, lyrics and dance routines, and figuring out when to get on and off the stage. All of the children have risen to the occasion and given their absolute best, time after time. We couldn't be more proud of the confident actors that they have become. Well done to everyone. You sure know how to put on a fabulous show!
A special thank you to parents for providing all the costumes and props. We couldn't have done it without you.
Fare thee well ship mates. Aaarrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!
